Note
The
test of WHAT IF!!
Yes
I’m talking about the cricket, I know you are fed up with all the
cricket everywhere, I can’t help myself I’m sorry.
The
Protea’s game will go down in my history book as the one that got away
because of WHAT IF!!.
What
if we were not punished with one less over, what if Gibbs didn’t get
out (considering the great form he had at the start) what if Lance and
Boje crossed and what if Ntini wasn’t caught and what if Shaun Pollock
had a brain.
You
might think that I’m being harsh on our captain, but I don’t think
so.
He
didn’t perform with bat or ball, and made stupid bowling changes and
field placings.
The
biggest mistake surely must have been taking the two front line bowlers
of once they had struck, thereby allowing Brain Lara to settle, and
consequently knocking us out of the game. When your holding the enemy by
the neck and your squeezing the life out of him, don’t let him go, he
will come back to haunt you, Mr. Pollock.
Congratulations
must surely go to the organizers of the opening, I really enjoyed it and
I think South Africans can be proud to say: “ We are South African”
Lets
all be proud to say we are South African, support the boys even though
we sometimes think they are stupid.
Enjoy your
week!

CCTV cameras in CBD, What’s your
opinion ?
I’m
sure all of you have read about the local councils plans to implement a
CCTV system in the CBD, in order to curb the rising crime levels in this
area. The budget for this project is R 3 million. Some citizens feel
that this will only chase crime away from the CBD and into the
residential areas. That it’s not the solution and that other ways of
reducing crime, like job creation and social up-lift-mint should rather
be entertained.
What
is your opinion on this? Let us know what your opinion is, we would like
to know, we might even publish your views on this newsletter, or we
might even forward all the opinions raised to council.

Council
makes most of Canada’s visit.
The
North West Province can be proud of our cricket team. They beat the
Canadian team in Klerksdorp last week Thursday, in a warm-up match for
the ICC World Cup.
Although
Canada was restricted to only 215 runs in their 50 overs, the game came
to a thrilling end with our boys only scoring the winning runs in the
last over.
New
clubhouse unveiled.
The
Klerksdorp City Council made use of this game to officially open the new
clubhouse at the Manzilpark cricket stadium, which was the highlight of
the day for many a dignitary that visited Klerksdorp for the game and
the unveiling of a plaque by the Mayor of Klerksdorp Dr. Masike.
To
see photos of the clubhouse and the unveiling please

KPS
drummies
The
famous KPS drummies entertained the crowd and the visitors in the lunch
break, may I say they get better every time I see them perform. Keep up
the good work and your schools name high.

African
culture
The
Canadian team was officially welcomed at a dinner afterwards in the town’s
main hall. They were treated to African song and dance, traditional food
and each was given a small bottle of South Africa’s well known “witblits”
I
had a small talk with Josef Harris (Canadian captain) at the function
and he could not praise South Africa and its hospitality enough. I am
sure that this is a feather in the cap of each and every person involved
in the organizing of this function.
Congratulations
to all concerned.

Mr. & Miss
H.T.S
What
happens when "big business" all come to the party and
co-sponsor a competition with
a difference? Come and see for yourself - the new and exciting Mr. and Miss
Technical
High School Klerksdorp on Wednesday 26 February 2003 in the Auditorium
at 19h00. Here not only will you see
the contestants "strut their stuff" but SPINDRIFT
our local rock band who are currently
touring the Jo'burg / Pretoria club scene and
will be releasing their first CD in
March, will keep the crowd entertained!
This
is the first of a number of planned Mr.& Miss "High
School" competitions coordinated
by Pixie Productions. These competitions will not only raise funds for each
of the schools involved - as just about every aspect of the competition is
sponsored
- but to also get each school involved in the community . The
vision is that after all the winners from the different schools have been
established
an overall Mr. & Miss "High School" will be held - and
this competition will
be sponsored by a major corporate and all the funds raised from the final will
be
donated to a local appropriate charity!

Super Troopers
Altered state police
Thorny, Rabbit, Mac and Foster are passable Vermont State
Troopers. Stationed in the boonies on the Canadian border, they
spend the bulk of their time playfully toying with speeders, stoned
joyriders and taking impounded sports cars for spins on the open
highway. When they're not on the road, they try to stay on the good
side of their fatherly mentor, Captain O'Hagan, and avoid their
tactless, thick-necked compatriot, Officer Rod Farva. All in all,
they find their work to be pleasantly unchallenging.
Unfortunately, their quiet existence hasn't gone unnoticed.
The state has targeted their low volume station for a potential
budget slash. Hoping to avoid the axe, the guys buckle down to
impress the higher ups. But success is hard to come by. First,
they find it's not so easy to change their brazen style. Then
things get more complicated as the Troopers start to hit
obstacles set by their law enforcement rivals, the shifty Local
Earlville Police force. The local cops smell the demise of their
State competition and gladly do what they can to speed the shut
down.
As things begin to look bleak, the State Troopers' new "by the
book" operation produces an unexpected gift. During a routine
traffic stop, they uncover a drug smuggling operation running
across the border to Canada. Sensing salvation, the Troopers
race the clock to crack the ring and save their jobs. But they
aren't the only ones in the hunt. The Local cops are also on the
case, hoping to crack it themselves and put the last nail in
their adversary's coffin.
