If you already feel the January blues setting in, then the best remedy is to join the 'revolution' at Tusk Rio Casino's Barnyard Theatre! This fabulous new show hits Klerksdorp from 10 February until 24 March 2005. The Sixties Revolution will definitely be lifting up the floorboards with it’s pulsating rhythms. The sixties is a decade most of us will never forget, even for those who were just a twinkle in our parents' eyes at the time, have heard magical tales ranging from flower power to Woodstock and Vietnam, hailing this era as one of the most fun the world has ever known. The Sixties Revolution features an audiovisual display as a backdrop including visuals of the first moon landing, Richard Nixon, The Beatles and other historical footage of the decade, complementing the music. The main emphasis though is the amazing music from the sixties that will have you rocking in the aisles. The show opens with the well-known 60's instrumental Hawaii Five O. It then moves on to Cher's pop standard The Shoop Shoop Song and other hits from the likes of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and The Troggs. Also featured are the crooners such as Tom Jones with It's Not Unusual and vocal groups such as The Hollies with He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother. Yes, all the hits are lined up! This production has enjoyed sold out runs in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg. This is thanks to the amazing five piece band consisting of Allan Lloyd on drums, Glen Veale on bass guitar, Roger Grant on guitar, Fiona Herbrardt on keyboards, Monique Herbrardt on saxophone and the dynamic vocalists Ramaine Barreiro, Percy Smith and Andrew Webster fronting this 60's extravaganza. The show is devised by Duck Chowles who is also responsible for other equally entertaining hit shows, Roll Over Beethoven, Rock Me Amadeus and Forever Young.
