THE DEPARTMENT
OF HEALTH ROADSHOW BY The MEC has visited the Southern District Health Department which culminated with a meeting with politicians of the Potchefstroom City Council behind closed doors. After this political meeting, the MEC took a tour to Witrand hospital where he addressed the management, staff and other community stakeholders on problems of service delivery, particularly on complains of the community about the BATHO PELE PRINCIPLES which are not considered and upheld by the staff and management. The community also raised the problems of the response time of emergency vehicles. The MEC gave the people the assurance that all these problems will be attended to immediately. After dealing with all the problems of Potchef-stroom, the MEC travelled to Klerksdorp and visited the newly upgraded clinic in Kanana called Grace MOKHOMO, where he did an official opening. This clinic has started extended hours since the 1 January 2005 and same time it includes the rendering of Maternity services on a 24 hours basis. This clinic also renders oral health because it has received two dental chairs which will benefit the community of Kanana greatly. Previously patients had to travel to Klerksdorp hospital for dental services. The community of Kanana were full of joy for this developments within their midst and showered the MEC with praises. |

The latest scam involves thieves putting a thin, clear, rigid plastic sleeve into the ATM card slot. When you insert your card, the machine can't read the strip, so it keeps asking you to re-enter your PIN number. Meanwhile, someone behind you watches as you enter your PIN number. Eventually you give up, thinking the machine has swallowed your card and you walk away. The thieves then remove the plastic sleeve complete with card, and then empty your account. The way to avoid this is to run your finger along the card slot before you put in your card. The sleeve has a couple of tiny prongs which the thieves need to get the sleeve out of the slot, and you'll be able to feel them. The South African Police Department urge people to be aware of this scam. |

Vir verdere inligting skakel gerus jou naaste tak by
