Nicola on top of the world

The prestigious World Championships of performing arts took place from 7-14 August in Los Angeles California.

The most talented amateur entertainers from around the world competed in various categories; amongst these were acting, dancing, vocals and modeling. This competition is rated as the official “Olympics of talent”. 

Over 40 countries competed against each other and the competitors endured a grueling week of judging by world wide talent scouts and famous Hollywood personalities including Judy Garland, Dee Wallace stone (E.T. – Smash Hit) and Tracy Melchior (Kirsten Forrester – Bold and the Beautiful).

Contestants were judged in the first round in order to select finalists for round two, and round three. The final “Showcase” event was presented to many honoured guests, heads of state and celebrities.

Nicola was fortunate to be able to attend this prestigious event in Los Angeles. She excelled during round one, where she took part in the events.

In Vocals and modeling age groups 5-7 years Nicola, won 9 medals. She was the top performer in her vocal items, and was chosen to go through to round two, where the competition became even more challenging for her as the groups were combined. In the age category 5-10 years.

Nicola walked off with the coveted “Champion of the World” in two vocal categories – world music and variety music. Nicola was chosen for the showcase event, 25 contestants were chosen from 2500 events.

She was remarked on by famous T.V. presenter and Hollywood personality Bob Eubanks as being remarkably talented for her age.

Nicola arrived back in South Africa on 19 August with 6 silver medals, three bronze medals and 4 gold trophies as “Champion of the World”.
