Walk a mile

Klerksdorp – Three, two, one and they’re off…a mad one mile sprint to the finish, leaving one winner.

Guts and determination were the ingredients that were needed to be the best. The pace at which these athletes ran was FAST and FURIOUS.

The support shown by the supporters was greatly appreciated by the contestants.

With music providing an energetic atmosphere and witty comments by the commentator, made the event an enjoyable one to attend and participate in. All in all it was a big success.

FNB announced that this event would once again become a yearly event, and stated that they hope it grows even bigger every year.

Mass mile winners in the Primary school category were as follows : Peter Mong (First), Jackobus Steyn (Second) and Jacques Smit (Third).

In the High School category the winners were Sebetlele David (First), Connie Lefase (Second) with Modise Kgosiemang (Third).

In the opens category we had brilliant performances by both male and female winners leaving second place eating their dust.

The Female opens category was won by Minette Bell, second place went to Yolande van Niekerk and third place to Lizette van Vuuren.

In the Male opens category Johnny Shiping ran brilliantly to take first, followed by Lionel Fhzmerris and third place went to Sam Musi.
