City Council of Klerksdorp holds Women’s Day

Klerksdorp – The City Council of Klerksdorp recently hosted an event to celebrate woman’s day. Women from various professions attended this event.

The Three Tenors provided entertainment followed by a speech by Avroy Shlain. Breast Cancer was one of the discussions points.

The event’s main purpose was to celebrate the part that women have played in building this country, and to recognize women in parliament.

Nampo – Cross Country around the corner

Klerksdorp – The Nampo 200 cross-country for motorcycles and four wheelers will take place on the 4th of September 2004, which is proudly sponsored by “Verwes Veldren Klub” and Kleinbroek Primary. The race will take place at Nampo Park, about 30 km from Klerksdorp on the Orkney/Bothaville road.

This race represents the 5th leg of the North-west as well as the Northern Regions Championship. Arrangements have been made for junior riders in the 65cc and 85cc class. A fun-run will also be available to those who would like to participate in the event.

The route consists of two rounds of 100 km each, with a refueling point about 50 km from the start. Entries will already start at 08:00 at Nampo Park.

The Junior race will start at 09:00 and the other classes will start at 11:00. Entry fees are R200 for junior riders and R250 for other classes.

Various exhibitions of outdoor- and camping gear will be on show. In addition, there will also be various food stalls and a beer garden. Entry to the beer garden will be free.
