TRENDS AND COLOURS IN YOUR HOME THIS YEAR

Trends in home decor and accessories this year are all about creating comfort in the home by making use of accessories of natural and raw materials. These include raw products of wood and metal. Amongst these are wooden and metal bowls, lamps, vases etc. which are widely available in decor shops emphasising this trend.

Wall colours this year also tend towards natural, muted colours with combinations of deep and pale or light with neutral. Blues are always popular and different shades and hues can be used to create space in rooms.

Window treatments and soft furnishings are more simple and elegant, making use of fabric texture and detailed designs to add pizazz to neutrals. Update your decor with unusual textures, soft floral designs or a bit of shimmer. Colours are mostly elegant, soft and inviting combined with velvet blacks and luxurious reds.

Laminates and natural wood flooring are still very popular, while the natural floor covers like coir, sisal and seagrass are becoming less of a trend. The popularity of carpets seem to be on the increase and manufacturers are producing a great selection of textured and stronger coloured carpets.
