World Cup Alabama 23-26 Sept 2004

The world cup in Alabama preparations is all set and they are ready to stage the tournament everyone has been waiting for.

The official draw for the games are taking place on the 20th of September 2004 at 18h30 for 19:00 at the Alabama secondary school.

Two representatives from each country will be allowed to witness the draw.

The official opening of the world cup ceremony will take place on the 23rd September 2004 at 19h00 sharp at the Alabama soccer stadium.

All teams competing in this competition is expected to be at the stadium by 18h00 sharp. Smiles would like to on behalf of Chelsea sporting who is hosting the tournament thank the following persons or companies for making this tournament possible.

All the teams competing, Overland Wholesalers, Macsteel, Yournews / Yourcity, Lentswe, Cedar Vadek, Midcity Motors, Wenvleis, Senwes and Alabama Secondary school as without your contribution this tournament would not have been possible.

Full Gospel Church needs you!

The full gospel church is organizing a morning tea to help with there fundraising.

The morning tea will be held at the full gospel church in Stilfontein on the 9th of October, there will also be lots of exhibitors.

So for a cuppa of tea and loads to see don’t miss the morning tea, proceedings will start at 10h00 and end at 13h00.

Vaal Reefs Kraai Koning

Orkney – Die Vaal Reefs Rugbyklub het nog ‘n trofee by hulle versameling gevoeg, deur die Brits Sewes toernooi te wen.

Altesaam 20 spanne het aan die toernooi deelgeneem. Die eerste vyf wedstryde was glad nie vir Vaal Reefs ‘n problem nie en hulle het vinnig tot by die kwarteindstryd gevorder. Hulle wen toe “Diggers” met 32-5, “Silwer Valke” met 47-5, “Technikon Pretoria” met 14-0, “Union” met 27-5 en “Brits Uitnodiging” met 28-0.

By die kwarteindstryd het Vaal Reefs die Noordelike provinsie met 47-0 geklop en die Brits Gekombineerde span met 35-0 gewen.

Die eindstryd was bloot ‘n formaliteit toe hulle met “Ugly’s” in ‘n verkorte wedstryd van net 14 minute met 75-0 afgereken het.

Volunteer Programme

The North West Cricket Association is looking for volunteers to help in the forth coming season. Any person interested in becoming a volunteer please contact the Association. 

The following requirements will be considered.

·                     You have to be between the ages of 19 - 29 years.

·                     You must be a South African citizen.

You will receive the following:

·                     Entrance to all cricket matches.

·                     2 T-Shirts, a cap and fleece Top.

·                     1 Meal during a match.

·                     Entrance to year end Function.

Op die 18de September bied die Onkologie eenheid van Wilmedpark 'n oggend tee aan met Manuel Escorcio by die Jaap Steyn Saal.

Daar gaan ook 'n kort modevertoning wees (9 van hulle eie kanker pasiente gaan self loop!)
