The New Mazda3 Sport

The Mazda3 Sport has a heritage born and developed on the racetrack. As fourth in the line of a new-generation, Mazda3 Sport inherited Mazda's signature handling embodying everything learned from the development of the Mazda6 and the incredible Mazda RX-8 and its amazing RENESIS rotary engine.

The Mazda3 Sport inherited Mazda's unique 1600 MZR engine that delivers linear, spirited driving and great fuel economy. Sequential Valve Timing (SVT) optimizes valve timing according to engine speed and air intake. So the engine operates far more efficiently throughout the rev range and maintains optimal drivability and power.

Available with a 1.6 or 2.0 litre engine, the Mazda3 Sport has plenty of courage when you need it. Its five-speed manual transmission allows you smooth, sporty shifting that enhances the dynamics of its MZR engine. With the widest tyres in its class and a confident, sure-footed feel, you really do experience the commitment and spirit of that willing heart beating so powerfully beneath the bonnet. The Mazda3 five door visually convey dynamic potential in a powerful and confident way, resulting in an exciting hatchback personality with design flair that is targeted to appeal to a more youthful mindset.

MazdaMotion is a collection of value-added services and products that allow you to enjoy a hassle-free driving experience. Within MazdaMotion, Mazda3 offers a 5year / 60 000km Maintenance Plan, 3 year Warranty and a 3 year Roadside Assistance along with a hand selected group of Mazda Approved Body Repair Centres. You will always have the advantage of a highly trained Mazda dealer network and a team of dedicated Mazda people ready to back your car to the hilt.

To protect you and your investment MazdaMotion has designed a full maintenance plan to suit your needs which covers full maintenance and scheduled services for 5 years or 60 000km whichever comes first: NB. These operate alongside the Mazda 3 year / 100 000 kilometre Warranty, not in place of it.

The Mazda3 Sport's safety features are excellent. It has a unique body architecture that features front, rear and side energy absorption structures. These combine with the Mazda Advanced Impact Distribution and Absorption System (MAIDAS) to ensure the structural integrity of the passenger compartment.

In case of an accident, a collapsing steering column minimizes impact on the driver's head and chest and with front seat belts featuring pretensioners that grip within milliseconds. Load limiters loosen the seat belt in a controlled manner to reduce exsessive pressure on passenger chests making Mazda3 Sport one of the safest cars on the road. There's 4-wheel ABS with Electonic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and built-in Emergency Brake Assistance (EBA). These give you superior vehicle stability and braking performance on both slippery roads and in emergency situations.

To protect you in all directions, there are dual-stage front airbags, curtain airbags and side airbags. To help minimize distractions while driving, the Mazda3 Sport has an auto headlamp on/off function, rain sensing windscreen wipers, audio controls mounted on the steering wheel and one touch electric window operation for the driver as well as water repelling front window and side mirror glass.

The interior design of the Mazda3 Sport is spectacular and features electro-luminescent gauges, a powerhouse 6-speaker sound system, power windows all around and a 6-CD shuttle in the dashboard on some models. The prominent three-meter cluster, steering layout and superb sports-style seats provide you a refined yet sporty feel for both the driver and passenger alike.

The design of the instrument panel's central section has a clear separation of meters and controls for safe and easy operation when driving. Add to this a host of intelligent storage compartments and a large, flexible luggage compartment and you've got even more room to move.

Car Paints - Do’s & Don’t’s

Do - Always use a wet cloth for wiping the car, after rinsing the paint surface with water first.

Do - Wax your car after it's been washed to avoid sealing in the dirt.

Do - For car covers, use natural fabrics that breathe, like cotton. Make sure the car cover is secure.

Do - Always use cold (normal) water to wash your car .

Do - For acrylic finishes, use non-abrasive liquid polishes specifically designed for such finishes.

Do - Light coloured cars retain their brilliance over the years, better than dark coloured cars.

Do - Immediately touch up paint blemishes with the appropriate colour and type of automotive paint.

Don't - Never wipe dust off your car with a dry cloth or duster.

Don't - Do not wash, polish or wax your car in the sun when the sun is hot. It could streak or stain the paint surface.

Don't - Never use vinyl or plastic car covers in humid conditions. They trap moisture and could cause fungus.

Don't - Do not use hard water (which contains minerals). It will leave a film on paint surface.

Don't - Never use polishing or rubbing compounds on paints with a clear acrylic coating, the coating will become dull.

Don't - Abrasive cleaners are extremely dangerous and can easily remove the paint & primer, leaving bare metal.

What do you do to restore the gloss of your paint?

When washing your car, always use high quality polishes containing mild abrasives.

If your paint has a white, hazy look, to remove the top layer of dead paint, follow the instructions on the polish box. Use rubbing compound only in case of extreme paint oxidation.

If the paint is dull and has no shine, apply a chemical cleaner to gently remove the dead paint layer. Wax your car immediately after polishing or cleaning it, in order to protect the newly exposed paint layer.

This slows the process of oil evaporation from the new paint layer and maintains the shine.
