Miss Zanzi 2004

Klerksdorp – On Thursday, 23 September, the Miss Zanzi competition was held at Zanzibar.

There weren’t that many entries, 14 to be exact, but they all were gorgeous.

It was a fun filled night, filled with lots of laughs and excitement. There were 5 judges, and they had their work cut out for them.

All the girls were asked to tell Zanzi who they are and what it is that they like doing with their free time. After everybody had the run-through, it was up to the judges to pick the seven finalists.

The seven finalists all received a t-shirt sponsored by Miller’s Draft and were asked to come up on stage and pick another question to answer.

Some of these questions were quite tricky and provided in some interesting responses. Following all the questions the crowd was asked to pick their favorite.

This was done very scientifically, by letting them shout as loud as they could for the one they liked best.

The girls then had a bit of a breather while the judges made up their minds as to who they thought best represented the spirit of Zanzi.

Finally the results were back in and the winners announced. Second princess, Venessa Haarhof. First princess, Liz-Marie Smith.

Then some more stalling by the speaker, and finally, miss Zanzi 2004 is Cindy Roodt.

A special thanks to all the sponsors for contributing prizes and for their support.
