The Tata Bakkie experience

The Klerksdorp public will shortly have the privilege to experience firsthand what all the fuss in the past month’s national motor press was about.

Motoring journalists from a wide variety of daily newspapers couldn’t express clear enough how impress they are with the offerings from Tata, a new player in the local bakkie market.

The Tata bakkie are full-blooded workhorses in 4x4 and 4x2, single cab and double cab guise, at prices that remind one of years gone by.

Auto Supreme Klerksdorp and the importers of Tata vehicles, Associated Motor Holdings, both form part of the automotive giants Imperial Group.

Auto Supreme has been awarded the local Tata dealership and will shortly be able to offer the full range of bakkies from their glamorous showroom in the Flamwood Walk shopping complex.

The existing showroom is currently being extended to provide for a separate Tata section under the same roof. The public can be assured of the same quality that they have become accustomed to in transactions with the handpicked used vehicles from Auto Supreme.

The prices of the Tata rage have been described by some journalists as “truly amazing” and set to cause a revolution in the commercial market.

The pricelist from Auto Supreme confirms that this is indeed the case:

Tata Telcoline 4x2 single cab Tdi    R99 900.00

Tata Telcoline 4x2 double cab Tdi   R123 995.00

Tata Telcoline 4x4 single cab Tdi    R149 995.00

Tata Telcoline 4x4 double cab Tdi   R179 995.00

Compare that to anything currently available on the market and you will understand what caused the excitement. Add to that the fact that the 4x4 variants come with air conditioning as standard and all models are power steering, central locking, transponder immobilizer system and a limited slip differential.

Air conditioning is available as an option on the 4x2 models. All models are powered by the same 2.0 liter turbo intercooler diesel engine that has a 10 000km service interval.

The baseline models are covered by a 3 year / 100 000 km warranty. Full service parts backup will be available locally.

Everyone considering to replace his workhorse and even those who thought that a new brand double cab is way out of reach, should take careful note of this new development and make their way to Auto Supreme in the Flamwood Walk Centre where the first Tata should be available towards the end of September.
