VHASHUMI BREAKS ALL BARRIERS
The “Vhashumi” Two Provinces Gold Challenge, took place on Saturday, 17 September, and was supported by cyclists from all over South Africa. The race consisted of 3 distances, namely 140, 50 and 15kms. The 140km race was an official seeding race for Argus 2006.

About 70 riders took part in the gruelling 140km race, which was won by Darryl Impey.  Eckard Berg was in second position, while Shaun Botha came in at third position.  Klerksdorp's own JC Jooste, who rides for the Kia team, surprised everyone by coming in at fourth position. 

The ladies' category was won by Yolandi du Toit of the Liberty Professional Ladies' Team, while  Drien Cilliers was in second position.  Hennie Joubert, a handicapped athlete who completed the 50km race in a wheelchair, was awarded a cash prize. Results are available on the website of Winning Time at  www.winningtime.co.za. 

The main results are as follows: Elite U/23 (140km) - 1st - Darryl Impey, 2nd - Eckard Bergh, 3rd - Shaun Botha, 4th - JC Jooste and in 5th place, Shaun Davel.

Hotspot 1st: Darryl Impey and Hotspot 2nd: Michael Dean Pepper. In the Elite Ladies race (140km), 1st place went to Yolandi du Toit and  2nd place, to Drien Cilliers.  Vets 40 - 49 (140km): 1st place went to Koning Jacobs and 2nd place to Joe Visser. Vets 50+ (140km): George Smith came 2nd and in 3rd place was Len van Heerden.

Vets 60+ (140km): The winner was Jan van den Berg, while in the Ladies 30+ (140km), Annatjie Ford came in at 1st position.

Karateka's Presteer
Molliere Daffue en Xolise Maduna van die SASKA klub in Klerksdorp, het in die onlangse uitdunrondtes in Rustenburg, die Noord-Wes,  Oos span gehaal, en neem deel aan die Alle Style Suid- Afrikaanse Karate Kampioenskappe,  wat die 14de en 15de Oktober  in Pretoria plaasvind.   Saam met hulle, is hul afrigter, Ronnie Maduna.

St. Conrads Gets Gold
The annual super 6 u/11 Primary School Interprovincial tennis tournament was held at Markotter Stadium in Klerksdorp - three of St Conrad's College Tennis players were part of the winning team and received gold medals.  Represented at the tournament were Gauteng North, Gauteng East, Northwest and Griquas.

Saamtrek vs Saamtrek
TENNIS:  Laerskool Saamtrek se junior A- en B-dogters tennispanne het  onlangs teen mekaar in die finaal van die KOSH-liga te staan gekom. Soos te wagte, het die A-span, die B-span die loef afgesteek, maar die stryd was intens en wou die B-span nie bes gee nie. Uiteindelik het die A-span egter heel gemaklik met 59-11 gewen.

STRAATMYL DEELNAME.  Laerskool Saamtrek se leerders het ook aan die Klerksdorp Straatmyl-kompetisie op Saterdag, 10 September deelgeneem.  Op die foto verskyn sewe van die atlete wat hul kragte teen die ander deelnemers gemeet het.

Touch Rugby League Results
The Touch Rugby Season is in full swing and time is running out for the teams that are still wanting to enter, There is still space for two more teams in Division 1, so if you want to enter your team you had better call Kim Paeper NOW on 084 833 4712 or enter your team.  If there are any corporates that would like to get involved, please phone Kim Paeper as there are many teams out there looking for some sponsorship.
