Amongst the multitude of South African artists that one has seen come and go over the years, most succeeding in doing little more than releasing one album and possibly getting two tracks on limited airplay, MEAN MR MUSTARD is a name that has remained known. MEAN MR MUSTARD's determination paid off. Their first self-entitled album was quick to get the recognition by the SA music industry, winning them an award for "Best New Artist" for the song "Cant Get Enough" and if that wasn't praise enough for a debut album, then certainly the nomination for "Best Song" for the track "Miracle" pushed the message home: this was a band to watch. MEAN MR MUSTARD are currently one of South Africa's most experienced bands consisting of musicians who have played the club and concert circuits around the country, also performing at many festivals and are a hot favorite at corporate and private functions. To date, they have had numerous no 1 hits on 5FM and 94.7. In the beginning of 2002 they performed at a concert at the Newlands Cricket Stadium in Cape Town that gave them a half hour TV coverage on MNet Supersport.
A performance show will be held at Zanzi Bar on 10 December.
