Tusk Rio Casino celebrated the New Year in style with their medieval themed New Year bash. Everyone got into the theme of things with the guests arriving in medieval costumes. WHEELS OF CHANGE FOR MERAFONG CITY MUNICIPALITY Merafong Municipality recognized the need to outsource their fleet management requirements to Amasondo Fleet Services through signing a contract – number 1/ 2005 – to the value of R40 million over a period of five years. This commitment with Amasondo is as a result of the need to improve service delivery to the local community of Merafong. Amasondo Fleet Services, formed in October 2000, is Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) partnership between Ukhamba Holdings (51% shareholding) and Imperial Holdings (49%). Through the full strategic backing and financial support of both organisations, Amasondo is fully committed to ensuring its support in providing total fleet management solutions to the Merafong Municipality. Amasondo’s philosophy is based on structuring tailor-made transactions mobility solutions to suit the individual requirements of Merafong Municipality in achieving its objectives of improving service delivery to the community of Merafong through increased efficiencies and effective management of its fleet. A variety of services will be provided to the Merafong Municipality ranging from vehicle procurement, finance, maintenance, accident, fuel, risk and workshop management. The services also includes the ongoing transfer of skills through driver training initiatives, the use of technology and exception reporting in achieving efficiencies in management of Merafong’s fleet. The size of the fleet combined with operating conditions results in possible vehicle damages that need to be professionally managed by a fleet services’ provider to minimise losses. Amasondo encourages participation of the local community by building sustainable ‘win-win’ partnerships, primarily through the support of the local supplier network, job creation and upskilling initiatives; thereby being able to contribute to a sustainable economy in Merafong. By way of example industry specialists on the latest developments and technology within the vehicle industry will train and up-skill current mechanics within the municipality. The success of the partnership between The Merafong Municipality and Amasondo will be based on developing a best business practise culture with good corporate governance in all its dealings.
