“If we don't change, we don't grow. If we don't grow, then we aren't really living.” Gail Sheehy- “In movement there is life; and in change there is power.” Alan Cohen- Yourcity is turning five this year. To celebrate our past success and continuing growth we are redesigning our corporate image. Yourcity has accomplished many of its original goals. We offer the largest information and news website in Klerksdorp and Yourcity is the largest website designing company in Klerksdorp. We have created the area's largest property and homeowners guide. Yourcity is Klerksdorp's largest free community newspaper. By re-establishing our name, Yourcity is showing everyone that our company is adaptable. We are constantly re-assessing our goals to meet the needs of the community. Our new image will show people that Yourcity is growing stronger daily. Every five years most successful companies re-evaluate their corporate images. This needs to be done to keep up with society's changing demands. It also reassures clients that a company is growing and able to maintain high standards. Just look at major car companies or food and beverage companies like Coca-Cola. They are constantly evaluating their images to meet client expectations. This is exactly what Yourcity is doing. Everyone will be able to check out our new look on the Yourcity website. The Yourcity website is a great way to really see how our company is changing and expanding to meet your needs. We now offer more news and more services. For example, Yourcity online is a convenient way to get the news. Now you can get the “paper” when you want it. Yourcity also makes breaking news immediately available, so you don't have to wait until Thursdays to get the latest scoop. Photos that are not printed in the newspaper, due to limited space, can be viewed on the website. The Yourcity website also has a large business directory and a newsletter that reaches 15, 000 subscribers each month. Approximately 7, 800 people visit the site monthly. That's about 250 visitors a day who are interested in our community. The Yourcity image reaches beyond the newspaper and website. We are the only company in Klerksdorp that offers a one-stop marketing solution. Again this affirms that we at Yourcity are constantly raising our standards to meet your demands. To save clients time and money, Yourcity employs several specialized people who can offer a complete marketing package. We do everything from business cards, banners and posters, to websites, corporate identities, and graphic design. These are only a few of the services Yourcity offers. Just ask us, we can make it happen. Another aspect that places Yourcity in its own category is our commitment to supporting the community. Yourcity supports charity organizations such as the Blood Bank, Hospice, and CANSA. We also support local schools and publish pictures and school news. One way we support local businesses is by offering them free editorials in the Yourcity newspaper. Yourcity is currently running one of the largest competitions in Klerksdorp. The winner of our Fiancée of the Year competition will receive a dream wedding package AND a dream honeymoon. Nothing is too small for the members of our community. So when you see our new logo, let it remind you that Yourcity is fully committed to providing services that our community needs. Yourcity continually grows to reach the highest standards that you expect from our company. We believe in offering the best service possible because Yourcity believes in its community. Happy Birthday Yourcity! National Hospice Week, May 1- 8, is a great time for the community to show their support for this beneficial organization. During this week Hospice plans activities to promote awareness of their organization. Hospice provides physical, psychosocial, and spiritual care to terminally ill people. Their main goal is to keep patients pain free and to help maintain their quality of life. Some of the activities during National Hospice Week include the presentation of Ballet Theatre Afrikan on Tuesday May 3rd. This function is to help raise funds to support Hospice. May 6th is “Hold Hands for Hospice” Day. Members of the Hospice organization around the country stand and join hands to show their support. People are encouraged to stand together for 5 minutes at noon hour. Donations for Hospice North West are also collected on this day. The Annual Fete at Hospice House, located at 13 Hendrik Potgieter Street in Oudorp, will be on May 7th at 9am. This is an opportunity for the community to come forward and donate pottery items, glassware, paintings, books, knitwear, or anything suitable to sell at the bazaar. People can also show their support by visiting the food stalls. For information about donations, or these events, please contact Hospice North West at 018-462-3916. |
