The Best Mayor in the Country

Executive Mayor Jaycee Nxamakele was announced as one of the most Pro-Active Mayors in the country at The National PMR Awards 2005(Professional Management Review held at a prestigious business breakfast held at Bryanston Country Club in Johannesburg Wednesday morning. He was honoured with a Diamond Arrow award and was amongst good company, Mayors of Tswane City and Durban City among a few.

The City Council's Manager Mr. Thupi Mokhatla also proudly accepted a diamond arrow award on behalf of "the City of People" for its contribution to social up lift-mint.  "Cities on the move" is how Klerksdorp was described by the MC for the event.

The survey was conducted through telephone interviews during June & July. Interviews were carried out telephonically utilising semi-structured questionnaires. Back-checks were conducted at all stages of the fieldwork, data- capture analysis stages. A full 100% of the questionnaire was checked for input quality and completeness prior to data capture.

Well done to The City's leadership. Truly in line with The President of SA call for transparent and professional leadership at local government levels.

Spring!

Spring is in the air and tomorrow is Casual Day. This year's theme is “where your hart on your sleeve” but whatever you decide to put on ensure that you wear you sticker - obtainable for a R10 donation from any Absa, Game, Dion, participating welfare organisation or via www.casualday.co.za. Kimmy Botha (7 years), Nadira Lakhi (5 years) and Kevin Van Zyl (2 years) all made sure that they are ready and dress up for Casual Day on September 2. The costumes were supplied by Parties 4 Kids in Klerksdorp. They supply costumes, party supplies, theme parties, cakes and party photo's.
