The annual Rose Festival to be held in Stilfontein on 28 October is just around the corner. Once again the community of Stilfontein will be opening their gates to many enterprisers and small businesses to show and sell their wares. This year the programme is filled with delightful entertainment starting from as early as 08:30 with a Husky dog show, and continuing throughout the day. The highlights of the day are among many “The Tenors”, these 4 local, talented African Opera singers, one of which is Klaas, an employee of the Stilfontein Library, made their Aardklop debut this year and are currently performing locally for Ladies Clubs and the Council. The legendary Vincent van Rooyen with his harmonica will perform to an audience for the last time and for many fans his performance of popular “Afrikaans” music as well as light classical music, accompanied by Harry Knepsheld on Saxophone, should not be missed. The variety to be seen and heard will have no end, as the crowds will be entertained by Andre a hilarious Hypnotist, Kallie the Clown to entertain the children during the afternoon and a new performer, Rick du Preez one of the 50 finalists in the “Supersterre” Competition currently being run on TV. This young man has won various local Idol competitions at Tusk Rio Casino, Carletonville, Randfontein, and had a few performances at Aardklop this year as well.

Die kategorie indelings is soos volg: 3 - 6 jaar, 7-9 jaar en 10-12 jaar. Inskrywingsvorms vir “Little Miss Pro Tour” sowel as “Miss Pro Tour” is beskikbaar by Auto Supreme reg oorkant Mc Donalds en Your City kantoor te Platanlaan. Little Miss Pro Tour word gekroon op 9 Desember en Miss Pro Tour se kroning vind plaas op 10 Desember. Meisies word weereens verseker dat die kompetisie in goeie smaak aangebied word en dat geen model ondervinding nodig is nie. Beoordelings kriteria is selfvertroue, natuurlike skoonheid, persoonlikheid, afronding, houding en algemene voorkoms. Miss Pro Tour het wel 'n uitdun rondte op 18 November te Auto Supreme. Die rede vir die uitdun rondte is sodat 15 finaliste aangewys kan word per kategorie aangesien hierdie finaliste elk pryse ontvang. Die kompetisie is goed georganiseerd en borge het reeds puik pryse beskikbaar gestel. Dit is uiters belangrik dat die inskrywings van die “Little Miss” afdeling betyds ingehandig word aangesien onderhandelinge reeds plaasvind rakende borgskap vir 'n geskenk vir elke inskrywing. Dus, met of sonder ondervinding, elkeen word aangemoedig om alle moed bymekaar te skraap en in te skryf. |
