Children's Home Goes To War!

Yourcity treated the children of Rethabile Children's Home to a day of fun and adventure on 11 August, when 28 children from the home spent the afternoon at Klerksdorp's Paintball Course.

The children were organised into four teams, with each team having the advantage of two Yourcity staff to help them steal the opposition's flag from under their noses. For many of the children this was a first time experience and everyone was excited, until the balls began to fly. Then it was time for running, ducking, shooting and screaming!  After several “casualties” in the practice round, everyone had had a chance to get a hang of the rules, and their guns, so it was time to head into the forest for some serious warfare.

Hours of stalking, hiding, shooting and running had everyone tired out, but there was time for a relaxing braai before is was home to bed for everyone exhausted after a long day of battle.
